Local treats just the trick for Halloween fun

These top activities and attractions all taking place in Dufferin Coaching Inn’s neighbouring towns and villages are a must for the family during the Halloween season.
Hallowtides
Head to Newcastle for its annual Hallowtides festival which runs from Friday 28th – Monday 31st October throughout the coastal town. Full of fun activities for ghosts and ghouls of all ages, the long-weekend programme includes the Twilight Mourne Markets, a Haunted House, fancy dress competitions, parades and of course an enchanting fireworks display along the promenade.
Spooky Halloween Sea Safari
Take a special Halloween voyage on Strangford Lough. Get in the spirit and come dressed as pirate or a mermaid for a tour of the lough’s spooky history including attractions like the Angus Rock Lighthouse and whirlpools at the famous ‘Routen Wheel’!
Spooktacular Week at Rowallane Gardens
Bring your little pumpkins along to Rowallane Gardens, Saintfield for a half-term of autumn antics and spellbinding activities. Say boo to the characters of the Premier Circus at the Ghosts and Gourds Spooktacular’s ghost trail! Let your little monsters take part in pumpkin carving and poison chocolate apple dunking while you relax and enjoy a bonfire latte.
Peninsula Food Showcase: Ghostly Grey Abbey
The ‘Ghostly Greyabbey’ event located in the mystic Grey Abbey Graveyard Grounds invites all you foodie fiends to an evening of Halloween themed food, drinks, tours and much more in this antique village. Taking place on 29th October from 5pm-9pm, what better way to spend Halloween during Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Drink?
